Safe Kids Campaign

Safe Kids Campaign

St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center, under the direction of the New Jersey State Safety Council, has formed the first SAFE KIDS Chapter in New Jersey. The National SAFE KIDS Campaign is the first and only national organization dedicated solely to the prevention of unintentional childhood injury, which is the number one killer of children ages 14 and under. Former U.S. Surgeon General C. Everett Koop, M.D., Sc.D is the chairman of the Campaign and Johnson & Johnson is the Founding Sponsor. The members of the St. Lawrence SAFE KIDS Chapter include Capital Health Systems, Medical Center of Princeton, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton, St. Francis Medical Center and the Trenton Thunder, Trenton Titans, KidsBridge Children’s Museum, the Lawrenceville Fire Department, Lawrenceville Police Department and Coleman Buick Pontiac GMC. This team effort is an important step in uniting different community organizations to work together to prevent injuries and to promote safety education.
